Today was one of my favorite days yet. We got to go to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, home of the 2012 Olympic Games. We got to go inside the building used for swimming as well as the velodrome. Some of the other major sights we saw there included the Olympic and Paralympic Rings, the Olympic Stadium, the Athlete’s Village, and the ArcelorMittal Orbit. We even got to ride the slide down the orbit and spend some time on the observation deck. Our tour guide, Pepe, walked us around for two hours, sharing all about the park and how it has had an impact on London and the surrounding areas. – Connor Zamzow
On March 13 we went to the Olympic Park which was the location of most events during the 2012 London Games. The specific buildings we went into were the aquatic center and the velodrome. We also went down the slide that was added to the Orbit sculpture after the games to increase the revenue at the Olympic Park. It was a great day to wrap up learning about each of the London Olympic Games. – Samantha White
On today’s agenda was a visit to the Olympic Park, the venue where most of the stadiums for the 2012 games were played. I enjoyed being able to see the velodrome and the pool. I also thought it was so cool that London was able to make these facilities adaptable to the general public after the Games so that they can still make money. Olympic Park is located in an area called Stratford, a little outside of London, and it seemed very residential to me. We then went to the orbit where we got an incredible view of the city. I felt like I could see the whole city of London. It was overall a great day. – Anne Kunkel
Today our trip took us to the Olympic stadium, the Olympic village, and several other venues and locations that hosted the 2012 Olympics. We also went up to the top of the orbit which had a good view of the entire city. After that a few of us went to the national gallery and then had dinner afterwards. – Brandon Schuchard
Today we were able to visit the site of the 2012 London Olympics and learn about the alterations that have been made since the games. The area is amazing and offers so many different activities for the people who reside in the area. We also got to snap some cute pics while we were on our tour. – Cole Anderson
