Creating Quick & Easy Screencasts

In an earlier All Things Kinsidered post, a screencast was used to demonstrate how to maximize your productivity when using Google Calendar. A screencast, according to Wikipedia, is “a digital recording of computer screen output, also known as a video screen capture, often containing audio narration.” There are many tools that can create screencasts, like Jing or CamStudio.
screenr1.pngScreenr is one of the easiest of this family of tools. Screenr provides a one-minute introductory video that details how and why the tool works. With the click of your mouse, Screenr launches a web-based screen recorder that you can resize over the screen you intend to record. Click the red record button and you’ll be recording your computer’s screen (you have up to five minutes). Once you are finished recording, press done and you will be prompted to publish your screencast and share it with others.
